16 May 2014, International Coeliac Day
Athens, Greece - 19 May 2014. As part of this year’s International Coeliac Day, Coeliac Greece aimed to raise awareness for an improvement in diagnosis rates of coeliac disease and to set up various volunteer committees (i.e. GF Food & Beverage, Government Issues Committee etc.) as well as to set up academic and athletic scholarships for excellence by coeliac patients.
In particular, we informed Greek Medical experts on the basic guidelines for Management of Coeliac Disease, by sending the CD Medics brochure with the current, comprehensive, science-based information about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of celiac disease to doctors, dieticians, health Press and medical researchers.
Additionally, we asked our members and partners to participate in a range of different volunteer committees, aiming to improve the lives of people with coeliac disease by working directly with Members, supporting Coeliac Greece awareness campaigns towards the Government and the Food Industry or getting involved in research.
In Coeliac Greece, we always welcome helping hands and we think that anyone can play a crucial role in the awareness of coeliac disease, thus in the improvement of a coeliac’s daily life!
